  • spazmo: iammaclovin: byejerkdiejerk: youroldfamiliarplace: This is weird or maybe I am just stupid, but I cannot for the life of me figure out whether this is saying abortion is ok or whether it is saying abortion is not a good decision? It’s saying that if abortion wasn’t available in a safe, confidential, and/or affordable way..or maybe if birth control wasn’t made available in a safe, confidential, and/or affordable ways, people would be resorting to abortion anyway, but in a much more dangerous manner. So maybe whether it’s okay or not is not relevant to what she’s saying and that Planned Parenthood should remain funded anyway because it may do more harm than good to get rid of the more accessible birth control and/or abortion options because people would be really hurting themselves and putting themselves at risk without it. I don’t really view this as a statement for or against abortion so much as a statement supporting the well-being of women’s reproductive health. Not everything has to be pro-choice or pro-life. Sometimes some things are just about what is in the best interest of the largest amount of people , and that doesn’t have to be on either side. … Do doctors even use wire hangars? I’m pretty sure a better tool has been invented. Someone should tell this chick the dark ages have been over for a while. *hanger Doctors don’t use wire hangers. I don’t actually know if there are underground methods that literally use a wire like that, but the “back alley” methods are much more traumatic to the body, less hygienic, and overall just plain dangerous, compared to the medical way in which doctors carry out abortions.I like how this picture doesn’t take a moral stance on abortion, because that’s really not the issue. They will take place no matter what, the question is whether it will be legal, available, and safe, or illegal and extremely dangerous.
